Inspired by the Place
Tailored Spaces is proudly headquartered within the historic Starline Factory in Harvard, Illinois, a place that has inspired me long before it became the home of my business. In fact, my husband and I were married here, making it a place woven into both my personal story and the story of Tailored Spaces.
Built as a manufacturing facility that once produced farm equipment, stanchions, feeder cups, milking stools, pulleys, and farm carts, Starline stands as a reminder of the craftsmanship, ingenuity, and hard work that continue to influence our approach to design today. What was once a hub of manufacturing has evolved into a vibrant community of artists, makers, entrepreneurs, and creatives, and that energy is felt throughout the building every day.
I was always drawn to the history, character, and creativity found here. There is something special about working in a place where artists are creating, teaching, and inspiring others. Surrounded by that spirit of craftsmanship and innovation, our team is constantly encouraged to think differently, push creative boundaries, and design spaces that are both beautiful and deeply personal.
From our showroom and design studio at Starline, we serve homeowners throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, including McHenry, Lake, Boone, Cook, and DuPage Counties, as well as the Lake Geneva region and surrounding Walworth County communities of Fontana and Williams Bay. Our projects have also extended well beyond our local market, allowing us to partner with clients across state lines on primary residences, vacation homes, lake houses, and custom new construction projects.
Whether a project is located a few miles down the road or several states away, every design begins in the same place: a historic building filled with creativity, craftsmanship, and a belief that great design has the power to elevate everyday life.
